About Us
Although our products didn't hit the shelves until the beginning of 2017, our story starts years before then. Our team came together through our extensive background in music instrument retail and repair. With over half a century of combined experience we decided to combine our knowledge and luthier experience with our vast network and start Lyman Guitar Co.
After having initial success with our import line of amps and guitars, our line of custom shop instruments were released in 2018 at the Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, TN. These guitars are hand-made by our four person team at our facility in Lyman, SC. We use the best possible woods and hardware available to construct our customers dream guitar- all at the most affordable price possible.
Our mission has always been to design and build the best quality instruments. We value our customers whether they buy one of our entry level guitars or their main instrument is one we custom built for them. After three successful years we strive to extend our reach by continuing to improve our quality standards.
A Letter from Lyman Guitar
What is community?
Community is not just a group of people residing in a common area. It is fellowship. It is a collective group of humans who foster a relationship and shared identity. It is composed of real humans with real stories, real lives, real hopes, and real dreams.
Lyman Guitar is named after the town of Lyman, South Carolina, a city with a population less than 5,000 and what was once a sleepy little farm village to a thriving metropolis. Lyman Guitar is named after the humble beginnings and people who have donated their talent and decades of luthier expertise. Because of them, we are able to produce incredible guitars that were created by the people for the people. We continue to collaborate with other talented luthiers, artists, and musicians to showcase the passion we all share for guitars and music. We want you to be a part of the experience, too.
We continue to grow in every aspect of our production processes whether it be in designing, quality, or our standards. We built Lyman Guitar as an homage to you and our town and we thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our guitars.

A Partnership Years in the Making
The story of Tyma Guitars goes back several decades- with an idea to produce high quality, high end guitars. The mindset of each master builder at TYMA has always been quality of quantity, and each guitar is an example of that. In the Spring of 2019 Lyman Guitar Co. and TYMA Guitars entered into an exclusive partnership to expand the Lyman acoustic line while introducing the TYMA name to the United States. With each guitar being shipped directly to and inspected by one of the custom shop luthiers at Lyman Guitar Co., each TYMA is sold with the same Lifetime Warranty as each Lyman Guitar. Exclusive US models hit the market at the Dallas International Guitar Festival in May of 2019 and have been selling ever since.
